Hey all! Happy Friday!

First of all- a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the middle schoolers for winning COLOR WARS! We sported blue in some crazy ways, and our dedication and creativity brought the Spirit Poster back to its rightful place in our window.

Secondly, book orders went home today, and they're the LAST ones of the year. With it, we have a middle school reading list that I compiled based on our book order and what the class has been reading thus far. They're simply suggestions for ordering and keeping yourself sharp over summer! Enjoy! Orders are due NEXT Friday, May 4th.

Hi all! We hope you're looking forward to a wonderful weekend!

As most of you know, next week is our Terra Nova Achievement Testing in the classroom, so from my class, we will have no FORMAL classtime. Students will be testing in Mrs. Sahli's and my classroom throughout the morning, and after lunch will have loosely structured time- some with Mrs. Sahli, some with me.

This means that, while students will be having classtime to work on projects, there will be no homework for any individual day- students' homework is working on their projects. This post is making a list of those assignments to be working on throughout the weekend and week to come. There will be NO blog posts next week (that I can foresee).

6th grade Grammar: Book Projects (due Tuesday, 4/24)

7th grade Grammar: finish Johnny Tremain, book projects (due 5/4)

8th grade Grammar: edit essay, book project (due 5/4)

History: Constitution-in-ten-minutes project- in PARTNERS, due 4/23

Hi all! We hope you had a blessed Easter Break!

Reminders:

• Spring Pictures are THURSDAY. Please send in orders and make sure your student is dressed in what you'd like them to wear.
• Terra Nova Testing (the newer version of SAT testing) in NEXT WEEK. Please make sure your students are getting enough sleep and eating breakfast before they come to school- let's represent Gaarde well! Students will not have a formal class time after testing, but they will have projects and class time to work on it- so they WILL have things to be working on at home. I will probably be doing one blog post for the week so you know what they can and should be working on throughout the week.
